HBO teams up with Vertigo for HBO GO Xbox release

I'm excited to announce the launch of HBO Go on the Xbox platform!  Our team at Vertigo had a great time working with the folks at HBO to build one of the premiere media experiences on a connected TV device!

From the official release post:

HBO GO is a premiere service bringing award-winning HBO content to millions of loyal subscribers. With the introduction of HBO GO to the Xbox, Xbox users can now experience wildly popular shows such as Game of Thrones, The Sopranos, and East Bound and Down. Fans viewing HBO GO content on the Xbox can also now browse the entire HBO catalog, using the Kinect voice and gesture commands, in addition to the standard Xbox controller.
“Everyone here at Vertigo are huge fans of HBO. It’s a great opportunity for everyone involved to work with a partner that we all enjoy in our everyday lives,” said Scott Stanfield, CEO of Vertigo.
Vertigo worked with HBO to bring their huge content library to the Xbox console using the HBO GO service architecture and platform. By utilizing the entire canvas offered on the Xbox platform, Vertigo was able to offer the user unique ways to discover and enjoy their favorite shows. Combine all this with the high quality HD video delivery offered on the Xbox, and you get a great overall HBO GO experience.
HBO GO for XBOX was launched on March 27, 2012 ahead of the Season 2 Premier of their critically acclaimed series Game of Thrones.
